Harvesting leaves with a spade. Leaves are made into a sauce that will be added to couscous. De schors van de onderste 2 meter is verwijderd voor de productie van touw. Dit resulteert in een karakteristieke ring op die hoogte. Vaak waarneembaar bij deze boomsoort.
